The Vancouver Police Board is offering a $10,000 cash reward in the case of a 15-year-old boy killed a year ago.
The cash will be handed out for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Jason Nguyen.
Sergeant Randy Fincham says police believe Ngyuen was targeted through association.
“We don’t believe that Jason was randomly murdered. We believe that someone intentionally had done this to Jason, it’s his acquaintance with another person that led to that.”
The teen walked into his sister’s bedroom at their home on East 24th near Rupert, covered in blood — and collapsed.
He didn’t survive.
Police say Nguyen was a good brother and son, and is believed to have been an innocent victim – possibly killed for someone he may have known.
