The man killed in a targeted shooting Saturday in Surrey may not have been the intended victim, according to police.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team today identified the man as 28-year-old Jatinder Michael Sandhu.
He died Sunday morning from gunshot wounds.
Police say neither Sandhu, nor a second man who is still in hospital with gunshot wounds, had criminal records.
Homicide investigators say while they believe the shooting is linked to the ongoing low level gang war in Surrey, it appears neither of the men were the intended targets of the attack.
The suspect is still at large and was seen leaving the area in a silver Infiniti SUV.
The shooting marks the 48th in Surrey this year alone.
