Vancouver’s biggest fireworks display kicks off this weekend and officials are reminding you to stay safe.
The annual Honda Celebration of Light fireworks extravaganza is described as the longest running off-shore fireworks competition in the world.
It draws thousands of people to the West End and Kits Point every year, prompting officials to remind the public to adhere to the no smoking ban in Vancouver parks, the prohibition on open alcohol, and a zero waste policy.
This year, the three countries competing are the Netherlands, Australia and the USA, which has the Walt Disney Company producing its pyrotechnic display.
People are encouraged to take transit to avoid road closures and delays.
12 marker signs labelled A through L will also be posted at English Bay to help you find your friends.
