Another win for the Lions on Saturday.
After 5 scoreless minutes, Leone put the Lions on the board with a single point punt – which was quickly answered minutes later by the Roughriders after Crapigna made a field goal, settling them in with a 3-1 lead.
A few minutes later Jennings pulled BC ahead with a touchdown, eventually finishing the first quarter with BC ahead 7-3.
The Lions started to lag behind in the second quarter, after Bagg nailed a touchdown pass from Durant to take the Roughriders ahead 9-7, and a 1-point conversion to settle them into a 3 point lead.
A field goal and another touchdown pulled them even further ahead, with a comfortable 20-7.
While BC’s Leone slightly narrowed the lead with a field goal, it was echoed by Saskatchewan with a mere 10 seconds left in the first half, finishing with the Roughriders ahead 23-10.
The third quarter was good to the Lions.
After 5 scoreless minutes, Leone started the team’s comeback with a 1-point punt… which was followed by a touchdown and 2-point conversion minutes later, ending the quarter with a smaller lead of 23-19.
BC exploded out of the gate in the 4th quarter, with another touchdown taking them ahead 26-23, the Roughriders evening the score with a field goal a few minutes later.
With little more than 8 and a half minutes left, BC saw another touchdown pass completed, stretching their lead to 33-26.
Crapigna whiffed a field goal attempt shortly after, the Lions sitting ahead 33-27.
Just before the 2 minute warning, Allen ran in a touchdown for BC, pulling ahead to 39, with Leone punting in a single with just a minute left to close out the game 40-27.
BC plays again July 29th, in Calgary.
