Three highlights from my month-long European backpacking trip!
I absolutely fell in love with Portugal. If you ever get the chance, go on a kayaking tour in Lagos. Situated in the region of Algarve, Lagos is known for its rugged and unique coastline. During the kayak tour, you can explore several grottos and caves that can only be accessed by boat.
If you love tapas and sangria, Barcelona is the place to go. If you’re craving authentic Catalonian tapas, I would recommend La Alcoba Azul on the ancient street of Sant Domenec de Call. The restaurant combines traditional cuisine with a cozy atmosphere and has bluesy music playing in the background. While you’re there, don’t forget to try the black pudding tostadas!
The capital city of Iceland, we came across this balmy city after our airplane to London unexpectedly landed here due to mechanical issues. The airline put us up in a hotel for the night, so we did our best to explore the city in what little time we had. Highlight? We stumbled across an impromptu electronic dance party in the city’s main square and danced the night away!
