Residents of Vancouver’s Cedar Cottage are calling on the city to help clean up their neighborhood.
Jessica Leung says the area’s littered with drug paraphernalia.
She says day after day the sidewalks and other areas along Kingsway between Knight and Fraser are littered with used needles and other items, and residents are fed up.
“We’ve asked for help so, so many times, it’s been months and weeks and days of emails and phone calls and meetings with the city and with Vancouver Coastal Health and other resources to try and express our concerns, and it feels like nothing has been done.”

Leung says a cleanup sweep of the area is done about once a week but she says more needs to be done.
“The city has been good lately in sitting down with us and hearing our concerns, but they’ve got a finite amount of resources and I think the problem of addiction in the city is extremely serious. I don’t know what we can ask them to do really, but it feels like they need to do more.”
