The BC Lions dominated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on the road Friday night.
The first quarter started slow, with both the Ti-cats and Lions managing early singles.
With little under 6 minutes left in the quarter, Richie Leone took the Lions ahead 4-1 with a 44 yard field goal.
The Ti-Cats managed to narrow the lead to 4-2, with Maher managing a 89 yard punt single to close out the quarter.
The second quarter kept up the snail’s pace, with BC managing another single and a safety to close out the first half with a 7-2 lead.
The Lions pulled even further ahead in the third quarter, with Leone racking another field goal to take the Lions up 10-2 with more than 11 minutes left.
Shaquille Murray-Lawrence added a TD to the mix just a few minutes later, taking the Lions ahead 17-2.
Less than a minute later, Leone notched an 85 yard kickoff single to take the lead to 18-2.
The Ti-Cats added their third and final single with just more than a minute and a half left, closing out the third quarter 18-3.
The last half of the fourth quarter saw Emmanuel Arceneaux complete a 16 yard TD pass from Jonathon Jennings, pushing BC’s lead up to 25-3.
Leone put the icing on the cake with less than 3 minutes left with another field goal, effectively ending the game 28-3.
The Lions will host the Toronto Argonauts Thursday July 7th.
