A small group of parents and students rallied in front of the Vancouver School Board Education Centre this afternoon, accusing the the province and VSB of playing politics.
President of the BC Student Alliance Dakota McGovern says the province and Vancouver School Board are using students as pawns in furthering their own political goals.
“I think right now the feud between the provincial government and the Vancouver School Board is an interesting one because both of them are claiming to represent student needs, which I find a bit controversial given the fact that they haven’t actually reached out to students.”
McGovern says both sides need to consult with students, especially during board meetings.
And he adds the student trustee should have more power.
