The political body that oversees the Greater Vancouver regional district will make its case against the Massey Tunnel replacement project today.
Metro Vancouver will release its impacts assessment report today highlighting concerns with the provincial government’s plan to replace the Massey tunnel with a 3.5 billion dollar 10-lane toll bridge.
It will take a look at the direct and indirect costs, and cumulative regional impacts of the project.
Earlier this year the board joined the City of Richmond asking for a federal environmental review of the bridge.
The project has also come under fire from environmentalists who worry about the impact on farmland and ecological areas.
