An update on a dog attack that took place in South Vancouver last Friday.
Two people were attacked near 56th Avenue and Fraser Street.
Now, the city of Vancouver has confirmed that the dog involved in the attack is a pit bull terrier.
A city spokesperson says one victim walked away from the scene and the other was taken to hospital. It’s still unclear how badly they were hurt.
Last week, the city’s animal control services interviewed witnesses and found the owner who was willing to cooperate.
The case goes before a judge after the investigation who will decide on the dog’s fate.
Under the animal control bylaw, the city can hold the dog for 21 days while officials investigate.
