Surrey Mounties are calling it a senseless crime and appealing to the public to help track down the suspect behind a brazen daytime break-in at a home on the 6300 block of 126th Street.
They especially want to find a collection of World War II medals and keepsakes from the homeowner’s dead father.
Corporal Scotty Schumann says the family has been left shaken.
“They’re quite traumatized by this incident. It’s a terrible situation to have your home broken into in the first place, but to find these possessions gone is unimaginable.”
Schumann says the medals have no monetary value, but hold sentimental significance to the family and can’t be replaced.
