It’s calling the conditional approval “invalid and unlawful.”
The City of Vancouver has officially filed an application with the Federal Court of Appeal for a judicial review of the conditional approval of the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion project.
In a statement, Mayor Gregor Robertson says the expansion isn’t of interest to Vancouver’s or Canada’s environmental or economic stakes.
Robertson says there wasn’t enough consultation and research done, and that Vancouver still has “significant concerns” about the expansion.
He also says key pieces of evidence submitted by the city to the board were ignored.
The City says it has set up a website for people and businesses to write to the Federal Government to share concerns around the expansion proposal.
