Two-term BC Liberal MLA Dr. Moira Stillwell says she won’t be running for re-election in 2017.
In a statement, she says she’ll be returning to medicine.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to serve our province in the areas of medicine, research and innovation, and having been an MLA and cabinet minister, I think I can add value, insight and a good understanding of how to work with government to get things done.”
Stilwell was first elected in 2009, and then again in 2013.
She served as Minister of Social Development, Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, Parliamentary Secretary for Industry, Research and Innovation, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health, with a focus on health innovation.
She is also former head of nuclear medicine at St Paul’s Hospital, Surrey Memorial, and Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Clinic.
