The B.C. government says it is streamlining services for youth at risk with the announcement of five new youth health centres.
It’s promising more than $7.5-million for the centres in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Prince George, Kelowna, Campbell River, and Abbotsford; all of them networked, all aimed at supporting youth with mental health and drug issues.
We’ve heard from many youth in care over the last few months who are dreading “aging out”of a foster care, and Minister for Children and Family Development Stephanie Cadieux says she expects them to access the new network.
All the centres are expected to be open by March 2017.
