Getting information out of the RCMP can be a challenge sometimes, especially when it involves one of their own.
A decision has come down in the case of a Mountie who hosted a dinner party at his home with fellow officers and the fallout resulted in his demotion.
Over the course of the evening the Mountie offered drinks to those at his house, some of whom were going on shift later.
Someone at the party didn’t like it, reported the Mountie to his Staff Sergeant and there was a heated discussion.
In the end the Mountie was demoted from Corporal to Constable.
An RCMP panel heard an appeal of the case, a decision is in, but apparently it’s not to be released externally.
