A young woman who endured a close to thirty-minute assault by another transit passenger on the SkyTrain is being commended for helping to nab the suspect.
Transit Police’s Anne Drennan says the May 23rd assault started at Surrey Central and continued well until the woman and her attacker de-boarded in downtown Vancouver.
Drennan says the victim was on a nearly empty train when the suspect sat beside her and allegedly placed his hand on her bare thigh.
After both left the train, the woman followed the man and saw him board a bus before reporting the attack to Transit Police.
Drennan says the 60-year-old Surrey man is known to police and will appear in a Vancouver court in August.
