A Downtown Eastside Pharmacy is going to court claiming it’s being unfairly targeted by its strata corporation for issues like noise and loitering out of it’s control.
Omnicare Pharmacy has filed a petition in B.C. Supreme Court against it’s strata corporation seeking an order to quash fines and declare the bylaws as invalid.
The East Cordova business says many customers are homeless and unemployed.
It says it does it’s best to keep the strata lot clean and tidy, but can’t stop customers from loitering, littering and causing a disturbance outside its front doors.
Court documents say since December the strata has been issuing fines with some strata council members even harassing and intimidating staff by intentionally dumping garbage outside.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
