Vancouver Police say they’ve arrested a suspect who may be responsible for the apparent random assaults of 2 elderly women last week.
Police say mental health issues are believed to be a factor in the attacks.
A 33-year-old man is in custody in a separate assault case.
Just after noon last Thursday, an 84-year-old woman sitting on her walker on Broadway near Ash was pushed and she fell, breaking her elbow.
Two hours later, a 70-year-old woman in a wheelchair out for a walk with her daughter near Broadway and Granville, and was punched in the face.
Fortunately, her injuries weren’t serious.
