The BC woman suspected in connection to the fire of the only gender reassignment clinic in the country earlier last month has been arrested.
Constable Paul Malait with Kelowna RCMP confirmed Jayne Ellen Heideck was arrested Monday morning around 10 o’clock, and will remain in custody for the next few days until the next steps are taken.
“It’s the montreal police department and their members will come here and escort that person back.”
A Canada wide warrant was issued for Heideck for charges of arson stemming from a fire set at the Montreal clinic May 2nd, where Heideck had gender reassignment surgery.
There was speculation the fire may have been a hate crime, but police have ruled that out.
