The Mayor’s Council is out with a new survey that’s found 90% of respondents want the multi-year regional transportation plan rolled out immediately, and 80% want it should be done all at once covering rapid transit, buses, and road improvements, and not piecemeal.
69% find it “hard” to get around Metro Vancouver, 75% rate traffic as “poor”, and 74% think the current funding formula is “fair”.
That formula has the Federal government paying 50%, the Province paying 33%, and municipalities paying 17%.
However, there is no agreement yet among the cities in Metro Vancouver how that 17% should be funded.
Angus Reid Global conducted the survey of 1.403 Vancouver adults from May 3-5.
