Fort McMurray’s airport is set to reopen.
The international Airport says it’s tenatively scheduled to start commercial services on June 10.
That’s nine days after Fort McMurray residents are scheduled to start returning to the fire-razed city.
Officials are emphasizing that the reopening will only happen if conditions are safe.
The airport has been closed to commercial flights since May 4th.
Throughout the wildfire the airport’s tarmac has acted as a lifeline.
It’s been the transportation hub of food and supplies for emergency responders.
