What would you do if a giant home filling almost the entire lot went up next to yours?
Port Moody residents are sounding the alarm on so-called “Monster Homes” going up in the community.
Resident Tara McIntosh has been meeting with neighbours, hoping to put a stop to what she says is a destructive trend.
“I hope to god that we just get on the ball because our landscape is getting completely ruined. It’s like there’s no plan. It’s like people are just filling up their lots with these ugly homes. They’re just ridiculous, all pavement, there’s no grass”
This week residents will meet with councillors and the mayor at a resident’s home to discuss the issue.
McIntosh says she wants the city to implement a new by-law limiting the size of new homes.
