Surrey RCMP say two people are dead and three others in hospital, one in critical condition, after a serious accident in Surrey Sunday morning.
It happened around 12:30 Sunday morning on 88th Avenue at 152nd St.
Staff Sgt. Dale Carr says the incident is still very much under investigation.
“At this time we’re on scene, we have our crash team there doing the investigation. We have not sorted out what caused it, whether speed was a factor or alcohol was a factor.”
“This is a catastrophic crash that’s going to take several hours to gather the evidence.”
This is the second major accident already in Surrey this long weekend.
Surrey RCMP are investigating a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning in the area of 60th Avenue and King George Boulevard.
Another serious crash on Maple Ridge’s Haney Bypass on Friday renewed calls for the province to act on promised fixes.
