An overview of the timelines and maps for re-entry from the Fort McMurray wildfire has been released, with a number of conditions.
Among them, residents will be allowed to return when the fire is no longer an imminent threat and critical infrastructure has been restored.

Other essential services plus local government also need to be established before residents can return. It will be a phased re-entry of residents, split up into zones to allow for an efficient and safe return.
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo says they’re working hard over the next few days and weeks to restore critical services and are again thanking the residents for their patience.
