The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has cleared a Transit Police Officer in Surrey on the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Naverone Woods.
Woods was shot by an on-duty officer in December of 2014.
He died in hospital that morning from a combination of a gunshot wound and self-inflicted stab wounds.
Woods great-uncle Moses Wilson said at the time “It shouldn’t have happened that way.”
Wilson told CKNW there was a lot more ways Police could have dealt with Woods.
His great-uncle also says to their knowledge, he did not have any mental health problems.
