Toronto drivers had quite a surprise this week.
“You know we always hear, ‘Don’t text and drive”. And it’s just a message that kind of goes in one ear and out the other, we’re just hearing it all the time yet people still do it”
That’s Mylene Savoie, the managing director of the Montreal ad agency The John Street, talking about two billboards in Toronto that have shocked some people.
“What if we encouraged people to text and drive and then signed it from a funeral home? That would obviously be very provocative, definitely get noticed, and then ideally lead people to a site to give them more information, more statistics, to hopefully get them to understand the reality of the dangers of texting and driving.”
She tells The Jon McComb Show on CKNW that the controversial ad campaign is proving to be “quite successful”.
