The wildfire situation in Northern Alberta remains extreme even as it looks like Fort McMurray is out of the danger zone.
The big wildfire that destroyed 2,400 buildings in the town is now burning over 229,000 hectares after merging with another wildfire.
Even as over 1500 firefighters battle the flames, the wildfire is about 25 to 30 kilometres from the Saskatchewan border.
25 wildfires are burning in the province next door, with two new fire starts yesterday.
Most are under control.
Officials say they are now working on a plan to allow people to return to Fort McMurray with a re-entry plan coming within two weeks.
This comes as some kind of stomach bug sweeps through several reception areas housing wildfire evacuees.
