More fallout from the latest investigation into embattled Victoria Police Chief Frank Elsner.
The adjudicator appointed to look into the latest allegations has ordered Elsner be suspended effective immediately.
Chief Frank Elsner has been on administrative leave since December.
But his suspension — ordered by retired judge Ian Pitfield — comes after new allegations he tried to influence witnesses, convince them to destroy evidence, and attempted to access a police server to delete emails connected to the investigation.
Elsner is already being investigated for five allegations of breach of trust, after sending inappropriate social media messages to the wife of one of his officers.
He has launched a court challenge of the first investigation, alleging an abuse of process.
The co-chairs of the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board are arranging to convene next week to discuss the implications of the order for Elsner’s suspension.
