An Alberta man’s alleged crime spree in Richmond and Vancouver has landed him behind bars, facing numerous charges.
It began with a stolen grey Acura in Richmond, and from there became a series of road rage altercations, purse snatchings, and ending with a police takedown in East Vancouver.
Constable Brian Montague says the suspect has a lengthy criminal record in Alberta.
“It appears as though he’s only been in Vancouver for a couple of days. We were working closely not only with Richmond RCMP but other jurisdictions in the Lower Mainland. We’ll be tracing his steps on his recent journey from Alberta to the B.C. area to determine if there are any other links.”
36-year-old Abbas Saeed Abbas may also be facing additional charges in Richmond, where he’s a suspect in a brazen robbery against an elderly 78-year-old woman.
“He’s been charged with robbery, use of a firearm during an offense, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Now, those charges are specifically the ones in Vancouver. We know for sure this vehicle and the accused was associated to crimes in Richmond.”
