When the Lynda Steele Show asked for listeners’ thoughts on what they feel is a “dream job,” we actually had a lot of people tell us a Radio Talk Show Host is their dream job.
Lucky for us, we have a lot of talk show hosts roaming the halls of CKNW.
Drex, host of Drex Live sat down with Lynda to talk about his Dream Job.
“When I first started on the radio I was fourteen…I had always been interested in radio from a young age. I used to listen to a local radio station where I grew up, and used to go to their remotes, and meet the DJ’s and get the sticker and all sorts of that stuff.”
His first radio job was as a radio DJ, and his job was to chat in between songs that he played.
“Someone was passing through town and heard me on the radio. I was sent a note…and I was offered some work experience at a National Radio Station, which is very similar to the CBC…and then I got a job.”
He says that finding his way over to talk radio, was actually a complete fluke.
“I like to put in a little bit of silliness, and look at the stupidity behind the news…it’s fun.
