There were no injuries in a Monday afternoon plane crash at the north end of Vancouver Island.
“Involving a ultralight aircraft that ditched on the shore of Smith Sound approximately 40 nautical miles north of Port Hardy, with two people on board.”
That’s Captain Stu Robinson of the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre.
“The people were found on the shore and there were no injuries. The aircraft is in the water upside down.”
Robinson says a Cormorant helicopter and a Buffalo aircraft, along with the Coast Guard ship Gordon Reid, were all dispatched to the scene.
