As reports of shootings in Surrey continue to pile up, prevention appears to be a big part of what many are hoping will be the solution.
The city has taken on a Public Safety Strategies director for that reason.
Terry Waterhouse says one component that’s new in combating gangs is what he calls “being smart about using big data”.
“To make sure we’re addressing the right problems, to make sure the interventions that we’re using address the right problems and actually make a difference.”
A public forum on gangs will be held will be held tonight at the Bell Performing Arts Centre at 6:30 p.m.
