It was a close call for one paraglider in North Vancouver tonight, who found himself tangled in power lines.
Assistant Fire Chief Dave Burgess says crews were called to Ranger Avenue near Sylvan avenue around 8:30 but had to wait for B.C. Hydro crews to safely extract the man.
“The area was denergized, and then the paraglider was removed from the wires, he was checked by B.C. ambulance for injuries, and was released… he packed up his paraglider and went home.”
Burgess says the glider, a man in his 50’s, walked away unharmed, but that any situation involving high tension wires can be extremely dangerous.
