Another indication the B.C, economy is doing well.
The latest survey by Moneris, the payment processing company, has found consumer spending rose in British Columbia by 9.25% in the first quarter of this year.
That’s the third highest among the provinces and 3 full percentage points above the national increase.
The biggest increases were in women’s clothing, fast food, and home improvement.
It’s the sixth consecutive quarter that consumer spending has risen in the country.
The only province where consumer spending went down in the first quarter was Alberta.
