The moment has finally arrived for a B.C. man who plans to run 45km every day for the next two months.
On Monday Dave Pennington will begin his two-month fundraising campaign by running 2,700 kilometers.
His goal is to raise funds for an organization in Indonesia called ‘Friendly Drifter’, that focuses on reducing plastic waste in oceans.
“The goal is $25,000, I think that that can be a good start for us; right now we are at about $4,000. We have big aspirations for Friendly Drifter.”
“This is the first time for family drifter and it’s the first run that I’ve done, I’m not actually much of a runner so hopefully it goes well.”
Pennington says he’s paying for all of the expenses of the run so all the money can be donated to Friendly Drifter.
He will be running from the U.S./Mexican border to Vancouver along Highway 101.
