The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre has confirmed that two people were killed in a plane crash in the Trout Lake area near Revelstoke yesterday.
It received a call yesterday afternoon after a small plane’s emergency transmitter was detected.
The call came in around 1pm, and Search and Rescue aircraft were launched. Wreckage was soon spotted in steep and difficult to reach terrain.
On the ground local Search and Rescue members with climbing experience managed to get to the site.
They found the wreckage of a small single engine plane and two bodies.
The Nakusp RCMP, BC Coroners Service, and the Transportation Safety Board are now investigating.
