A former teacher from Vancouver Island has been banned from ever teaching again in the province after sexting a former student.
Former greater Victoria high school teacher Anthony Drolet admits to sending inappropriate Twitter and text messages to a former female student in May of 2013, including references to having sex with her.
A decision released by B.C.’s teacher regulation branch says Drolet taught the student during the 2011-2012 school year, before she and several others followed his Twitter account.
It wasn’t until almost a year later Drolet began reaching out, sending the messages of a sexual nature.
The consent resolution agreement says although Drolet relinquished his teaching certificate in October 2014, he’s now banned from ever teaching again in the province.
