A Vancouver Whitecaps farm team player who recently pleaded guilty to assault and received an absolute discharge is back on the pitch.
Sahil Sandhu had originally been charged with sexual assault after allegedly groping a waitress at the Republik nightclub on Granville Street.
Instead, he received an absolute discharge, meaning no conviction is entered on his record.
The club says in a statement, that following the resolution of the case and absolute discharge, they’ve decided to lift his suspension from the team and return him to active status.
He had been suspended last December when the allegations surfaced.
