Burnaby RCMP are advising parents to be vigilant after a possible child luring incident near a school on Friday.
It happened around St. Helen’s School, on Pandora Street between Ingleton and Esmond around 5:00 in the afternoon.
Corporal Bill Iggulden says police are now looking into what happened.
“There was an incident that occurred up in that area, and they have identified a possible suspect at this point, and our special investigation section is following up on that.”
Iggulden says it appears to be an isolated incident but nevertheless wants parents to keep an eye on their kids.
“Recommend they be vigilant and know where their children are, but we believe it’s an isolated incident and identified who they believe the individual is, so there’s really not an overt safety concern at this point.”
Iggulden says the school has been notified about the incident, and are asking anyone who saw it to contact Burnaby RCMP.
The school reportedly issued a warning to parents about the incident as well.
