The latest unemployment numbers are out from Statistics Canada, and while B.C.’s rate is lower than the national average, it’s not the lowest in the country.
That accolade goes to Manitoba at 6.0%, while the highest rate of unemployment is in Newfoundland and Labrador at 13.1%.
In B.C., the rate fell to 6.5% from 6.6%. in February to 6.5%.
The national unemployment rate for March was 7.1%, down from 7.3% in February.
The national youth (15-24 years) unemployment rate remains relatively high at 13.4%
