After a decade on the comedy circuit, Dino Archie has been recognized in a big way.
He’s home from California after taping his first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Archie says it was a challenge to cut down a 12 minute act to a tight 4 minute segment for the show, but that it was overall a great experience.
“You start, you know, doubting the material and then you have to remember ‘hey! They called me.”
Archie was the first place winner of the 2015 Seattle International Comedy Competition and will be performing in the Vancouver Comedy Extravaganza on April 30.
He hales from California, but has been living in Vancouver for five years. So what makes this city work better for him?
“People leave you alone here, they just let you do you own thing. Like people make beer here in their house and sell it on the street, you know what I mean, they just open up shops and sell weed. Like they do whatever they want in a good way where you don’t bother other people, so comedy… that’s just the city here where they allow me to do that.”
Archie is unable to reveal when his Kimmel episode will air, but promises to tweet out to fans a week prior.
