Jody Taylor, the City of Vancouver arborist who was crushed to death by a tree limb in Connaught Park, is being remembered as a family man and a loyal friend.
Now, a GoFundMe has been set up to support his 10-year-old daughter he left behind.
Organizer John Franco characterized his fallen friend like this:
“A big, burly man, with a huge heart.”
And as a friend, Franco says their bond was unbreakable.
“He is my brother. The band we were in together is a brotherhood, more than a band. We have a love for each other that’s beyond anything, and that’s something I held dear with Jody. Now that one of us is gone, we’re all feeling this huge loss.”
But more than that, he was a father who loved his daughter.
“He loved his daughter Tristen very much. Every time he had the opportunity to be with her, he was just with her.”
The funds raised will go towards helping support Tristen, who has now lost her dad.
In just a day, the GoFundMe has raised over $10,000 dollars.
