Shuswap Search and Rescue were called late Friday night to find a downed pilot who crashed onto Mt. Ida near Salmon Arm.
There were no passengers on board.
Crews spent several hours making their way toward the pilot, with the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre sending a search plane to help by dropping flares.
Search Manager John Schut says the pilot is in good condition.
“The subject appears to be alright, a little bit banged up… but I think the only complaint was a bleeding nose.”
Search crews found the pilot in relatively good shape and hiked him to a waiting helicopter at around 12:30AM.
He’ll be assessed in hospital.
It’s not known how much experience the pilot has.
