A few weeks ago, we brought you the story of a young Richmond boy in need of a life-saving stem cell transplant.
Now, efforts are being stepped up to find a matching donor, as the six-year-old continues his fight against Leukemia.
No one in Joshua Weekes’s family is a match, so they, along with Canadian Blood Services, will be holding a swab event.
Joshua is of Icelandic, British, Caribbean and Filipino descent.
That means they’re looking for donors of diverse backgrounds to register as potential stem cell donors.
Joshua was diagnosed with an aggressive form of acute myeloid leukemia earlier this year.
