A local actors union is warning its members about the Director of a horror film sequel scheduled to be shot here in BC.
On its website, the Union of British Columbia Performers says in 1988 Victor Salva was convicted of sex charges involving a minor he was directing at the time.
Salva served a 15-month prison term.
The union is reminding actors, especially minors, they can refuse work.
It is also asking that given Salva’s past, agents should tell parents of any child actors who might be working with him, about his past.
In 2006 Salva released a statement saying he had committed a terrible crime and would spend the rest of his life making up for it, if people would give him a chance.
Salva is scheduled to direct Jeepers Creepers III.
The film is set to be released in 2017.
