Grief has gripped BC’s lacrosse community, as well as friends and family, as a 17 year old boy is presumed drowned after falling into Lynn Creek on Monday.
Cole Marsh was a senior at Terry Fox Secondary School, and played goalkeeper for the Burnaby Mountain Selects lacrosse team.
Executive Director Brent Hoskins describes Marsh as a genuine, kind, hardworking young man, who likely “exercised some poor judgment” resulting in his tragic death.
“We are aware that I think cliff jumping was a hobby of Coles so we are lead to assume that is what he was doing at Lynn Canyon on Monday.”
Hoskins, says the news has sent shockwaves through the community, and that Marsh missed by all.
“He was somebody who was incredibly genuine, I think is the best way to describe his personality. He was very well-liked by his teammates, he was a very hard working young man who came from a very loving and supportive family.”
Search crews were forced to call off their search this morning because the water levels were too high.
His body hasn’t been recovered.
Tributes from friends have already begun to pour in over social media.
