The parents of Nick Lang, a 15 year old child who died just days after being placed in government care, are now suing the government for negligence.
His parents, Peter Lang and Linda Tenpas, are filing their lawsuit on what would have been Nick’s 16th birthday.
Their son, who was addicted to meth, took his own life on June 9, 2015.
In their lawsuit, they allege that the government failed to properly place Nick in an appropriate rehab program or ensure that he was adequately cared for or supervised.
They also allege the government failed to properly account for the fact that Nick was Metis.
None of their allegations have been proven in court.
