The Canadian-Pakistani community came together Monday at a Surrey mosque in prayer to remember the lives lost in the Lahore bombing.
Mohamed Tariq is Consul General of Pakistan in Vancouver.
“Be it Lahore, Brussels or Ankara, or Paris, we have to face these kinds of challenges and the international community required to make concerted effort to root out, to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
His thoughts were echoed by Surrey-Green Timbers MLA Sue Hammell.
“I think all of us are involved in the fight against terrorism, and we have to take a stand and stand with people that have been hit by it.”
A candlelight vigil is planned for Tuesday at Holland Park.
