Vancouver Police are dealing with an attack last night in the Oak Street area.
A woman was reportedly sexually assaulted at Oak and West 48th around 11 o’clock.
Sergeant Randy Fincham with VPD say she was attacked from behind by a stranger.
She managed to fight off the suspect before he fled; however a police dog and helicopter were unable to track him down.
The witness who scared off the suspect at their front door, says the man was wearing a balaclava and a hoodie and was punching the victim repeatedly.
The victim, a University student, received injuries to her face.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
