Is the arduous task of lacing up your shoes the one thing keeping you from going for a run?
Well you are in luck!
Nike has introduced the HyperAdapt 1.0, a self lacing running shoe.
(it’s not the shoe from Back To The Future II, they already released the Nike Mag a little while ago”
Now you might be asking yourself: Why the hell do I need a self lacing shoe, isn’t this just a gimmick for Nike to make more money?
So you probably don’t NEED a self lacing shoe, and as it stands right now, yes it probably is a bit of a gimmick.
BUT imagine where this technology could lead us in the future.
Tinker Hatfield, legendary shoe designer of the Jordans, sees a future where this technology becomes adaptive and will be able to feel when you need more support and tightens accordingly, or automatically loosens when you need it.
It means that in the future, an athlete’s footwear will have a near symbiotic relationship with the athlete.
